The Emini (or E-mini or ES) is a US futures contract that tracks the S&P 500 stock market index. The Emini is traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) via the Globex electronic trading platform. Trading is 23 ½ hours a day, 5 days a week, using the ticker symbol ES. There are dozens of futures brokers that allow eMini futures trading. EnigmaSignal works with all of these brokers in manual mode, and with many of them in automatic mode.

In the UK and Australia, in particular, there are a number of spread betting companies that also allow eMini trading, usually through the ticker symbol SPX500. As with futures, some companies offer accounts that can be algo traded.

Each 1 point move in the S&P 500 index is worth US$50 per Emini contract and the minimum move of the Emini futures contract (or tick size) is 0.25 index points. When spread betting or CFD trading the amount that can be traded is up to the client and can be as little as $1 per point.
